How to Avoid Pain Because of SMS or Typing

Heather Turkopp, a therapist and hand expert of William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan said, that patients who typed by using a thumb can cause tissue irritation and stress injuries that take many years in the process.

To avoid pain because of SMS or typing and neck pain causes, the experts recommend:

1. Avoid sitting in the same position for hours, stand and rest for a while.
2. Pay attention to posture. When the computer monitor should sit parallel to the eyes and arms form a 90 degree angle, knee angle is 90 degrees and feet touching the floor.
3. Many people bowed when typing because it is too concentrated to see the keyboard.
To keep a good position to give additional neck and back and set against the back of
the chair.
4. Use two fingers and give your fingers a rest when typing a long message.
5. Stay active because the people who are more active outside of work and have a good
circulation will provide a better recovery than those less active.
6. If you experience pain, stop typing. Anti-pain medications may help.

I agree. People often get pain because they do the same activity over and over again without a break. Sometimes it might even be a good idea to set an alarm and get up out of your chair every 10-15 minutes!
